2018 was one for the books. As we delve into 2019, we are ready for new and exciting things! In Ocean City, Maryland alone, there is so much to look forward to in this coming year…
January To kick off the New Year, Atlantic General Hospital will host the 25th Annual Penguin Swim on New Year’s Day. As participants take the plunge into the freezing cold Atlantic Ocean, supporters and spectators can cheer their friends and families on from the beach. All proceeds will benefit the Atlantic General Hospital Foundation. Use #OCPenguinSwim when posting about the Penguin Swim on social media!
February Catch the Superbowl at your favorite Ocean City restaurant or bar. Eagle’s Landing Golf Course will have their annual Super Bowl Scramble on Feb. 3! Also this month, Ocean City’s Annual Seaside Boat Show will be at the Convention Center the weekend of Feb. 15! Explore the show featuring over 350 boats, 140+ exhibitors, and much more.
March Along with events like the OC Film Festival March 8-10, the true excitement will come to town with the holiday we all know and love, no matter what our roots are: St. Patrick’s Day! St. Patrick’s Day in Ocean City is something everyone should experience. Once you’ve been here once, you’ll want to keep coming back! With the Boardwalk 5K and Parade and Festival along Coastal Highway, the entire town is flooded with green, four-leaf clovers, and Irish charm!
April As winter fades away and the weather gets warmer, Ocean City will celebrate with Easter services and craft fairs, 5Ks and marathons, and more. And they always say… April showers bring May flowers!
May Almost Queen, LeAnn Rimes, and Night Ranger will all be making their way to Ocean City from May 2-4 for Springfest. The free staple event welcomes locals and visitors to enjoy live music, delicious food from various vendors, and tons of excitement! In addition to Springfest, Cruisin’ Ocean City will return to the resort town. Hot rods, classic cars, and custom designs will cruise up and down Coastal Highway!
June If you’re a Raven’s fan, you’ll want to be in Ocean City on June 1 for the Baltimore Ravens Roots Annual Parade! Purple and black and everything Ravens will fill the lanes from 19th St. to 26th St. From the Air Show to the OC Surf Fest to the Firemen’s Parade, June is going to be a very busy month for Ocean City, but one thing in particular is new to the resort town this year. The first ever Jellyfish Festival will take place June 21-24, featuring music and entertainment like never before.
July As the summer season is in full swing, the Fourth of July, Greek Festival, and HUK Big Fish Classic will all bring excitement and crowds to the beach town. Of course, on top of all the fun events and celebrations, the sandy beach, boardwalk, and warm sunshine are reason enough to spend some time in Ocean City!
August The White Marlin Open continues growing and bringing more and more fishermen to the tournament each year! There will be a lot to look forward to for this year’s event! Jeep Week, Artists Paint OC, and Art X will all take place in August.
September To some people, September means the busy summer season is settling down; to others, it’s just the start! Wine on the Beach, OC Bikefest, and the Flounder Pounder fishing tournament will all take place this month. A huge staple event for the town will also take place in September: Sunfest! Live music, food, and other festivities will fill the Ocean City Inlet the weekend of Sept. 19.
October, November, and December will also be time for plenty of happiness and excitement in town! From OCtoberfest to seasonal festivities and much, much more, the town’s 2019 “off-season” will not disappoint!
